Guilin Sept  27 #Night   1 Reserved? Y/N LPMapPg: 634
http://www.travelchinaguide.com/attraction/guangxi/guilin/

One of the top China's tourist destinations, Li River is honored to the most beautiful gallery of the world. The picturesque river is a major component of Guilin scenery. As it sparkles in the sunlight the river meanders through lush mountains like a liquid jade belt. To really appreciate the scenery a cruise from Guilin to Yangshuo is a must and your voyage of discovery can be divided roughly into three sections:

The first of these is from downtown Guilin where you board the cruiser to Huangniu Xia (valley). As soon as you leave the landing stage you will begin to enjoy the natural wonder and local customs. Upon reaching Huangniu Xia (valley) the cruise enters upon the second section. This part is the very essence of Li River. The gorgeous mountains and the crystal water together with the romantic legends are certain to impress you. Shuiluo Village marks the beginning of the third and final section that ends at Yangshuo. Along this stretch of the river you pass through pastoral scenes unchanged for generations as the banks are lined with quaint fishing villages, farmland and bamboo groves.

Located at the confluence of the Taohua (Peach Blossom) River and the Li River, Elephant Trunk Hill is too famous to be missed. It is said to be the symbol of Guilin scenery and also a highlight in Li River.

Diecai Hill, also named Gui Hill, famous for its amazing scenery and stone caving, is one of the most attractive scenery in Guilin. The easiness for climbing makes great contribution to its popularity among visitors.

Seven-Star Park is located on the bank of Li River, crossed by Xiaodong River. The park got its name owing to seven peaks looking like Charles' Wain. This is the largest and most popular park in Guilin with the longest history. Hills, rivers, caves and stones are highlights of this park.(Clinton Rock)

Reed Flute Cave is 5 kilometers (3miles) from downtown in northwest suburb of Guilin. Here the scenery is focused on caves, and their rural setting. Within the cave there are enchanting stalagmites, stone pillars, stele, stone curtains and stone flowers.

Tối, đi xem show diễn “Impression of Liu san jie” do Trương Nghệ Mưu đạo diễn. Xem “chui” một cách ly kỳ nên chỉ hết 40 Y so với giá vé thấp nhất là 168 Y (các mức vé khác lần lượt là 320 Y và 688 Y).

 Assembling Dragon Cave
 Big Banyan
 Butterfly Spring Park

 Shutong Hill (Schoolboy Hill)

Moon Hill Scenic Area

To the south of the county, there is a romantic place where you can see the wax and wane of the moon (refers to a moon-like hole on the top of the Moon Hill). Various locations in close proximity to one another allow the sight to be viewed from different angles. Such a location and atmosphere is perfect for enjoying the love story of the fairy singer Sanjie Liu. The opportunity also exists to sit under the 1, 400 year old Big Banyan or to take a mud bath in the Moon Village. Between the Moon Hill and the Big Banyan, three large limestone caves wind along three stone hills and converge at a deep pool. It presents the image of three dragons assembling to drink in the pool, hence the pool's name 'Assembling Dragon Cave'. Two miles from the city, the Butterfly Spring Park provides the opportunity to view thousands of kinds of butterflies. A magnificent place for the butterfly enthusiasts.

Above-water Scenic Area

Along the lower reaches of the Li River lies the Sanjie Liu Above-water Park, where the film 'Sanjie Liu' was made. This is a picturesque environment consisting of pure water, green hills and farm houses. You can roll a bamboo raft and catch fish in the water, or you can act as Brother Aniu and sing a musical dialogue with the performer of Sanjie Liu. This area also provides you the opportunity to enjoy the famous performance 'Impression on Sanjie Liu' that takes the natural environment around the Li River as its backdrop.

West Street is the oldest street in Yangshuo with a history of more than 1,400 years. Situated at the center of Yangshuo County, West Street has become, since the 1980's, a window of eastern and western culture and the biggest 'foreign language center' in China. West Street is the most prosperous district in Yangshuo, and, each year, approximately 100,000 foreigners come here on their travels or to attend advanced studies. Visitors are attracted to West Street by its unique mix of cultures. http://www.travelchinaguide.com/attraction/guangxi/yangshuo/west_street.htm

West Street is 517 meters (1,696 feet) long and 8 meters (26 feet) wide, meandering in an 'S' along its length. Being completely paved with marble it is a typical example of a southern China street. It is greatly admired by foreigners for its simple style and courtyard-like setting. There is a saying about West Street that 'half is village while the other half is stores'

Because, at times, foreigners outnumber Chinese, West Street is also called 'foreigners' street'. Don't be surprised if you hear English words spoken by elderly Chinese women, for West Street is called 'the global village'. Besides the local accent of Yangshuo, English has become the language for daily use. West Street is modern and fashionable, nearly every store has bilingual shop signs, and more than 20 stores have been opened by foreigners who have settled here.

Chinese visiting West Street may think they are in a foreign country, while foreigners come here to search for the ancient civilization of China. However, whether you are Chinese or a foreigner, West Street is a terrific place to take a rest, both physical and psychological. West Street will drive all of your pressures and burdens away, and give you a calmer view of life. It shows different faces at different times: calm and peaceful in the morning, while trendy and modern in the evening. Traveling to West Street is an experience to be with the landscape, with the people, with the soul, and with yourself.

Visiting West Street, you will be surrounded by an array of traditional folk and amazing international elements. Various shops, craftworks shops, painting and calligraphy stores, backpack shops, cafes, and Chinese Kung Fu academies jostle for attention. You may see a multitude of items, from embroidered silk cloth, wax-painted weaving, to tiny shoes worn by women before the liberation of the People's Republic of China in 1949. In addition, elsewhere on the street you may find bars and cafes, some run by foreigners, decorated with bamboo rafts, fish baskets, wax-painted tablecloths, and so on

You get to Moon Hill (Yueliang Shan) from Fenglou village, Gaotian township, near Guilin. It is a huge slice of rock with a round hole in its center, and you mount 800 steps on a marble paved mountain path to reach it. At various angles it resembles from the new moon to a full moon. The rock measures 380 m (height) by 410 m (length) by 220 m (width).

Legend has it that there is a Guanghan Palace on the moon inhabited by the beauty Chang'e, the Jade Rabbit, and Wu Gang the woodcutter. People in olden days thought they saw these immortals when they came upon spots on the moon's surface. Visitors to Moon Hill call to each other's attention that there are nature formed rock images of Chang'e, the Jade Rabbit and Wu Gang the woodcutter.

With 14 rock-climbing routes on the northwest side, Moon Hill offers sufficient challenge to both amateur and professional climbers.

The region around Moon Hill is endowed with beautiful sight. Many mountain rocks are in particular shapes which bring visitors infinite reverie. Local people call this picturesque scenic sight 'Ten-li Gallery'. The beautiful land attracted the former US President Carter to have a visit. Having heard the interesting scenery along the 'Ten-li Gallery', he hired a bicycle to roam the land instead of taking a car.

The area is included in an official plan for tourism development. In 1995, the local government built a bicycle path for visitors to freely enjoy the natural scenery along the path. The major scenic sights along the path are given vivid names according to their shapes, such as the Flaming Mountain, Heavenly Horse Galloping in the Sky, Golden Cat Comes Out of the Hole, the Emperor Qin Shihuang Goes to the Front and the Beauty Makes Up.

Assembling Dragon Cave
It is widely believed that Guilin boasts the most beautiful scenery in China, and Yangshuo scenery is the most beautiful of Guilin. Assembling Dragon (Julong) Cave is a pearl inlaid in Yangshuo scenery characterized by pretty rocks, strange caves and clear waters.

Located six kilometers (3.7 miles) south of Yangshuo County, Assembling Dragon Cave is at the foot of Ma Hill (Horse Hill) between Moon Hill and Big Banyan, comprising Black Cave and Water Cave. The cave gets its name from the surrounding peaks, like circling dragons, and the numerous stalactites with shapes suggesting images of dragons in diversified postures.

This is the only Karst cave in Yangshuo which can be admired both by land and by boat. The cave is over 1,000 meters (1,094 yards) long, 25 meters (82 feet) high at its highest point and 30 meters (33 yards) across at its widest with a quarter of the sightseeing route navigable by boat. Next to the watercourse there is a plank road equipped with guardrails. Visitors can watch the inner sights on foot or by boat as they like.

The scenery in the cave is an extraordinary masterpiece of nature without any artificial management. In the cave, the spectacular Karst scenery is too amazing to miss. There are too many astonishing sights such as stalagmites, stalactites, stone pillars, waterfalls, and underground rivers for visitors to take in. The pool in the cave is the seemingly bottomless Wudi Pool. Floating along the underground river in the pool, visitors can row their boats through the cave and come out from the back while experiencing a drop height of several meters.

There are many enthralling waters and mountains gathered around the cave, as well as many pavilions, terraces, and towers built in the style of local minorities' architecture. Antiphonal singing with 'Sanjie Liu' (an excellent folk singer of Zhuang ethnic minority in ancient China) can also entertain visitors on their trip.

The Assembling Dragon Cave's natural beauty accompanied with its cultural displays has made it the most distinctive scenic spot in Guilin, and attracts millions of international visitors.

Tips: Battery cars and bicycles are both available from Yangshuo County.

Admission Fee: CNY 45
Opening : 08:30-17:30
Recommended Time for a Visit: One hour

Big Banyan
Six kilometers (about 3.7 miles) away from the County of Yangshuo, you will find a prominent and towering tree: the Big Banyan Tree. It has survived wind and rain over centuries since it was planted during the Sui Dynasty (581-618). It is also famous because the Chinese film 'The Third Sister Liu' was partly shot here. Thus a beautiful love story adds to the magic of this centuries-old tree.

This tree, measuring 7 meters (about 23 feet) in width and 17 meters (about 55.8 feet) in height has experienced extensive growth over the years. Although its stem is very old and its roots twist, its branches and leaves stretch out so lushly that the sunshine hardly penetrates its shadow. Sitting in its shadow on even the hottest day of the summer, you barely break out in a sweat. It is under this tree that The Third Sister Liu declared her admiration to her lover The A'niu.

To the south of the Big Banyan Tree is Moon Hill. A village under the hill offers you a chance to experience true village life free from metropolitan stresses and troubles. Under a mysterious layer of haze you will find tranquil scenery comprised of leveled rice terraces, crystal brooks.

This sightseeing spot should definitely be incorporated into your travel plan.

Admission Fee: CNY 18

Nếu đi cả Nam Ninh thì có thể đi theo cách sau bad nhé:http://www.phuot.com/threads/572-Thông-tin-du-lịch-Trung-Quốc/page3

2. Nam Ninh - Quảng Châu: xe lửa. Mua vé ở ga (tất nhiên ), mình quên giá vé bn rồi. Đi đêm cho nó tiện.
